  • By Public Transport: Buses are available from Kathmandu’s Ratna Park Bus Station to Panauti.

  • By Private Vehicle: It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Panauti by private car or taxi from Kathmandu.

  • Ideal Time: Panauti is accessible year-round, and it is the best time to visit during the festive seasons.

  • Transfer Options: The homestay can arrange transportation for guests upon request.

What To Expect

What to Expect? Expect a walk through lush greenery, spotting rare Himalayan flora and fauna along the way. Discover hidden meditation spots where monks once sought solitude and wisdom. Experience breathtaking sunrise views over the Kanchenjunga range from select high-altitude points. It is mostly a moderate hike with some places of short steep climb. Even if you do not lead an active lifestyle, one can easily do it. The entire trip starting from your homestay and back will be around 4-5 hours. This time includes a small picnic by the waterfall and a dip in the cool pond.Enjoy moments of peace, far from modern distractions, as the trail transports you into a realm of tranquility.

Does the homestay provide drinking water?

Yes, your hosts will provide boiled water, which is safe to drink. We encourage guests to opt for boiled water instead of plastic bottles to help protect the environment.

Are there Western toilets available?

There is a mix of squat and western washroom facilities within homestays. If you need a western washroom, please let us know when booking; we can allocate it if it is available.

Do my hosts speak English?

Most of the hosts speak little to basic English, but they have at least one member in the family who can communicate with good English for ease of interaction.

Are there any animals? I’m allergic to cats/dogs/etc.
