  • From Kathmandu: Panauti is approximately 32 km southeast of Kathmandu and can be reached by car or bus.

  • By Public Transport: Buses are available from Kathmandu’s Ratna Park Bus Station to Panauti.

  • By Private Vehicle: It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Panauti by private car or taxi from Kathmandu.

  • Ideal Time: Panauti is accessible year-round, and it is the best time to visit during the festive seasons.

  • Transfer Options: The homestay can arrange transportation for guests upon request.

What To Expect

A guided tour of the Academy, offering insights into sports training in Sikkim. A chance to witness live practice sessions and interact with young determined cricketers of tomorrow. An inspiring experience that highlights the perseverance and dreams of Sikkim’s budding athletes. If training or practice sessions are not on, you could even try a hand at batting, bowling and fielding. Expect a basic but educative tour of sport in the Himalayas. You will also understand the challenges and see a sense of pride among the students honing their skills at the Academy.

Is there Wi-Fi available ?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available in almost every house.

Does the homestay provide drinking water?

Yes, your hosts will provide boiled water, which is safe to drink. We encourage guests to opt for boiled water instead of plastic bottles to help protect the environment.

Are there Western toilets available?

There is a mix of squat and western washroom facilities within homestays. If you need a western washroom, please let us know when booking; we can allocate it if it is available.

Do my hosts speak English?

Most of the hosts speak little to basic English, but they have at least one member in the family who can communicate with good English for ease of interaction.

Are there any animals? I’m allergic to cats/dogs/etc.

Yes, some families have pets. If you are allergic, please let us know when booking, and we will arrange a stay in an animal-free house.
