Taaza Village Cultural Activities

The Fort dates back to the 18th century and is tied to the legendary Princess Pendi Ongmu, after whom Pendam gets its name. Stories tell of massive stones that were carried all the way from the Teesta River to build the Fort. The Kali Devi Temple, predating the Fort, is believed to be a powerful wish-fulfilling shrine, protecting the region from harm and guiding devotees through divine intervention.
