Taaza Village Cultural Activities

Tulsi Pujan is a sacred Hindu practice dedicated to the holy Tulsi plant. Daily offering, prayers and circumambulation around the sacred plant is a custom for Vaishnavites, who perform Tulsi Puja with deep devotion. Revered for its spiritual and healing powers, the Pujan invites divine energy, promotes well-being and enhances positivity. It is a beautiful way to deepen devotion and seek blessings for prosperity and protection.

  • From Kathmandu: Panauti is approximately 32 km southeast of Kathmandu and can be reached by car or bus.

  • By Public Transport: Buses are available from Kathmandu’s Ratna Park Bus Station to Panauti.

  • By Private Vehicle: It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Panauti by private car or taxi from Kathmandu.

  • Ideal Time: Panauti is accessible year-round, and it is the best time to visit during the festive seasons.

  • Transfer Options: The homestay can arrange transportation for guests upon request.

What To Expect

Look forward to a deep serene and spiritual experience. The ritual begins with cleansing and adorning the sacred Tulsi plant with water or Arghya, flowers and Kumkum. Vedic mantras and prayers are chanted to invoke the Goddess’ grace. Offerings such as sweets and incense create an atmosphere of devotion and purity. As the Pujan progresses, you may feel a sense of peace, clarity and connection with the Goddess. The Pujan concludes with an aarti, spreading sacred vibrations throughout the space.

Is there Wi-Fi available ?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available in almost every house.

Does the homestay provide drinking water?

Yes, your hosts will provide boiled water, which is safe to drink. We encourage guests to opt for boiled water instead of plastic bottles to help protect the environment.

Are there Western toilets available?

There is a mix of squat and western washroom facilities within homestays. If you need a western washroom, please let us know when booking; we can allocate it if it is available.

Do my hosts speak English?

Most of the hosts speak little to basic English, but they have at least one member in the family who can communicate with good English for ease of interaction.

Are there any animals? I’m allergic to cats/dogs/etc.

Yes, some families have pets. If you are allergic, please let us know when booking, and we will arrange a stay in an animal-free house.
